2nd grade: M.2G.A.1

Supplies:

  • Fresh Cranberries

  • Toothpicks

  • Cranberry Learning 2D or 3D Structure Cards

Cranberry toothpick structures are a simple fall or Thanksgiving STEM activity for the classroom, at home or fall festival.  There are minimal supplies and directions.

Ask the students to build the structures on the cards or challenge them to create their own structures, towers, or buildings.

These Cranberry structures are perfect for fall festivals, fairs, or events where people are coming and going.  The activity is self-explanatory when the cards are on display next to a bowl of fresh cranberries and a box of toothpicks.  Guests can stop by and build structures while you talk about your product or promote your business or agriculture.

Teachers, reach for these structure cards when you don’t have a lot of prep time but still want to have an educational activity.  Print and laminate these free cards for years of use.  Perfect for centers or to incorporate in a fall party.

Want to keep the kids busy while you make Thanksgiving dinner?   Put toothpicks and fresh cranberries on a table and let them go to work.
